Biomarker Validation
This session focuses on determining whether biomarkers are reliable, reproducible, accurate, and suitable for their intended clinical or research applications. Researchers are invited to submit abstracts involving analytical validation, clinical validation, assay performance, standardization, and quality control. Relevant fields include laboratory medicine, clinical pathology, diagnostic development, biostatistics, regulatory science, and clinical research. Suitable topics include sensitivity, specificity, precision, reproducibility, reference ranges, inter-laboratory comparisons, and evaluation of diagnostic performance. Studies assessing biomarker robustness, sample handling, assay harmonization, and independent validation in different patient populations are encouraged. Research addressing quality assurance and challenges in moving biomarkers from research settings into clinical practice is also relevant. Contributions may present validation frameworks, methodological improvements, and evidence supporting the clinical usefulness of novel or established biomarkers.
