Drug Development Biomarkers
This session examines the role of biomarkers throughout drug discovery, development, and clinical evaluation. Researchers may submit abstracts describing biomarkers used to identify drug targets, assess biological activity, predict treatment response, or monitor safety. Relevant fields include pharmacology, pharmaceutical sciences, toxicology, clinical trials, translational medicine, and biotechnology. Suitable topics include pharmacodynamic biomarkers, predictive biomarkers, safety biomarkers, target engagement, dose selection, and treatment-response assessment. Studies investigating biomarkers in preclinical models or clinical trial populations are encouraged. Research exploring how biomarkers improve patient selection, reduce uncertainty during drug development, or support evaluation of new therapies is also relevant. Contributions may address biomarker qualification, assay validation, and integration into clinical development programs. The session highlights approaches that support more effective and evidence-based therapeutic development.
