Pharmacogenomics

This session explores how genetic variations influence medication response, effectiveness, and safety. Researchers may submit abstracts involving drug-metabolizing enzymes, pharmacogenetic variants, drug transporters, adverse drug reactions, and genetically guided prescribing. Relevant fields include pharmacology, clinical genetics, pharmaceutical sciences, precision medicine, and clinical pharmacy. Suitable topics include genetic predictors of drug response, pharmacogenomic testing, dose optimization, medication safety, and personalized treatment selection. Studies investigating pharmacogenomic applications in oncology, cardiology, psychiatry, infectious diseases, and other specialties are welcome. Research examining the clinical utility, implementation, and limitations of genetic testing is also relevant. Contributions may address the relationship between genotype and treatment outcomes or evaluate strategies for incorporating pharmacogenomic information into clinical practice. The session aims to advance safer and more effective individualized medication management.
